Beecher Falls [a village in Canaan] used to have a furniture making factory for Ethan Allen. It doesn't any more. We tried to go over the border at one of these little towns but were turned away because my sister was carrying mace which is very illegal in Canada. The border guard was really nice and even offered to hold it for us until we got back, but we were hoping to head in via a different border crossing so no deal.
