The quarters were really close, and a lot of people were using Movable Type. While ssh and SMTP didn't work at all, AIM worked fine, so did telnet, ftp and, to a lesser extent, http. With the exception of some of the other bloggers, no one I spoke to even knew what this meant.
linking directly to images makes them somehow turn to raunchy porn and/or emails to your sysadmin, whichever sounds worse. be a good net.citizen, link to the pages the images are on instead.
