The thing that surprised me at some level about this event was how positive everyone was, and how forward-looking. I've been drawn to the Democrats and Kerry recently, in a tactical way, because I dislike the current administration so much that it's raising my blood pressure. Most of these people are here because they really truly believe in the Democrats and in their platform. Al Gore nonwithstanding, the Dems celebrities, and even the people I spoke with, spend very little time dissing the Republicans. That sort of "on board"-ness is something I don't feel, and I think the thing that draws me to event like these.

Seeing all these true believers, I wonder what their secret is?
