Despite the library being fasinating, the tour guides [docents?] do as much as possible, with their laser pointer and their extensive knowledge of every bit of library minutae, to make it stultifyingly boring. 'and these carvings outline all of the popular professions of the day... beekeeper ... scholar ... fisherman ... weaver ... printer ... ' [etc etc]
